Eastern Distributor is the stage name for multi-faceted Naarm based artist Daniel Jakobsson.
Performing in disused, repurposed, and reimagined spaces across so called “Australia” the Warrang/Sydney born weaves through textural ambience, atmospheric percussive techno & contemporary experimental bass music seamlessly, drawing their inspiration from their indigenous Peruvian & Swedish ethnicity along with field recordings from previous travels.
Since its inception, "Eastern Distributor" has been about offering a perspective of the potential of bass music; offering a unique sound that transcends conventional genres boundaries. Fusing textural ambience with minimal, polyrhythmic percussion and dnb, creates an immersive sonic environment for the listener.
Having recently also waded to the darker side of the swamp, Eastern Distributor’s newly established ‘Jörmungandr’ alias explores the ever-evolving experimental and fast paced iterations of psytek, tekno, IDM & ambient. The expression of this sound is characterized by its faster, intricate soundscapes, and use of unconventional textures and samples; pushing the project even further. Simultaneously sharp and deliciously radiant, Daniel is gaining increasing attention from international favourites such as Amniote Editions, Ute.rec & Mala Junta; joining acclaimed producers the likes of Roza Terenzi, Spekki Webbu, Peach Lyfe, & Hadone on various compilations.
